The Winged Horus

The winged horus  ,Horus is one of the most important gods in ancient Egypt, and is considered a symbol of goodness and justice.

According to legend, Osiris was his father, who was the god of resurrection and reckoning among the ancient Egyptians, and his uncle, who killed his father and distributed his parts throughout the Egyptian country.

His name in ancient Egyptian is “Hurr”, or “Hor”, and in Greek it is “Horus”, and this last name is commonly mentioned in Egyptian references.

Horus is one of the most important and oldest Egyptian deities ever, and since his appearance he has been linked to kingship and the legitimacy of rule, as he is the legitimate heir Fee

 This is because he is the legitimate heir of his father, Osiris.

“Hor” is usually represented in his original
form as a “falcon”, which was the form in which he was most worshiped in various parts of Egypt. He was also depicted as a crocodile with the head of a falcon in his image “Hor or my sister”.

The city of Edfu was one of the important centers of Horus worship, where he appeared in the form of a winged sun disk, and in Kom Ombo he bore the name “Haroeris” as the son of the god Ra.

Horus was sacred in Nubia, where temples and paintings were dedicated to him, and he had at least four local forms there.
